Willunga Golf Club was alive with colour and creativity as 101 players embraced the ‘P’ theme, arriving in outfits ranging from Police Officers to Pumpkins, with plenty of Pink and Purple on display. The ladies’ stunning floral arrangements added a special touch to the clubhouse and change rooms.
Competitors represented 18 clubs across the region, including Aston Hills, Bordertown, Echunga, Kooyonga, Links Lady Bay, McCracken, North Adelaide, Oakbank, Port Augusta, Regency Park, Robe, Strathalbyn, South Lakes, Thaxted Park, The Vines, Victor Harbor, Westwood Ho and Willunga.
The overall winner was Gillian Doyle (Willunga) with an impressive 41 points.
– A Grade: Jane George (Willunga) topped the field on countback with 36 points.
– B Grade: Gillian Doyle (Willunga) secured first place with 41 points.
– C Grade: Samantha Bradley (Thaxted) claimed victory with 39 points.
Winners received prizes ranging from Willunga membership vouchers to Minijumbuck and Yummy Nuts vouchers, along with golf balls for placegetters. Special contests included Most Accurate Drives on the 10th hole and Nearest the Pin challenges across grades.
Generous sponsorship from the City of Onkaparinga Council, Minijumbuck, Yummy Nuts and The Noarlunga Golf Hub made the day possible. Raffle donations from local businesses raised approximately $750, adding to the success.
