The 5th and final round of the Sanderson Cup was played on Sunday 25/6/23 at Glenelg Golf Club.
Although rain threatened early it remained clear throughout the match where our Southern team took on Royal Adelaide who are the leaders of the competition.
The no. 5 match between Sian Ruis (Southern) and Laura Birchmore (RA) swung back and forth during the whole game until finally square going into the 18th. Sian unfortunately had trouble in a fairway bunker and conceded the game on the 18th green to Laura. It was a terrific effort by Sian.
The other close match was between Julie Crafter (Southern) and Eliza Bartlett (RA) where at one point Julie was down 4 and fought very hard to take Eliza to the 18th green where the match was squared. Well done to our Captain Julie.

We all enjoyed a very friendly match with the very formidable Royal Adelaide team and are very pleased with our team who have all performed with great enthusiasm throughout the whole season.
We are all looking forward to playing again hopefully in 2024.
